Different Finishes

Clay – Ceramic that has been fired in the kiln once and hasn’t been glazed. This material is rough, porous, permeable to water and not very resistant.
Glazed – This is a coating layer or a glassy substance, heated so as to fuse with the ceramic article. It has not only a decorative purpose but also improves its resistance, makes it waterproof and turns the surface smooth. In Bocados de Praia® products we use the White and Black Matte finish.

Cleaning Clay Ceramics

To clean Clay ceramic pieces you should sand them with a sheet of fine grit sandpaper (we recommend using the 320).
You shouldn't try to clean with a cloth as it can worsen the soiling. You shouldn't submerge it in water nor clean with a damp cloth because Clay is a porous material permeable to water. For the same reason, don't use alcohol, bleach or other cleaning products.
Clay Ceramic Vases
The Clay ceramic jars are only for dry decorative flowers.
You can't use natural flowers with water because Clay is a porous material permeable to water.
